Communities in Schools of Pittsburgh — Allegheny County (CISPAC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to surround students of the greater Pittsburgh region with a community of support empowering them to achieve in school and succeed in life. CISPAC works side by side with schools as analysts, developers, facilitators, managers and trainers. Their work results in improved student outcomes, increased parental and community engagement, active and coordinated resource providers, an infrastructure for maintaining high student outcomes and, the fulfillment of the community vision for student success – empowering every student to be given a genuine opportunity to achieve academically.
Jean Ann Wright has been making quilts for over 50 years. She is former editor of international quilting magazine QUILT as well as The Quilting Quarterly publication for the National Quilting Association. She has written numerous books, published over 30 patterns, designed numerous custom trim tools and is currently a consultant to several major fabric manufacturers. When teaching, she encourages her students to avoid the safe choices and instead see what new images they can create when they step out of their comfort zone.
